Penny Arcade — Prints and Story

Remember the field trips and vacations you took as a child? The sights, the sounds, the smells, all so grand and magical. Then you go back to those beloved places as an adult — maybe with your own children — and find that though the place is much smaller and maybe shabbier than you remember, you still love it.

Penny Arcade, Kimberly Kight’s fourth fabric collection for Cotton + Steel, is about seeing the world through a child’s eyes, and about the power of nostalgia to keep old places and things magical. The prints tell the story of a kids’ trip to the big city, where they go to see a puppet show, play arcade games, eat treats, and play in the park.

There are 18 quilting cottons, two printed on unbleached cotton, and one cotton lawn. Penny Arcade is perfect for kids’ quilts, clothes, and toys, though the prints are versatile enough to work for many ages.

The collection was released in January 2016 and is now out of print. However, some prints may still be available from independent fabric stores. Some prints may still be available wholesale — visit the Cotton + Steel website for more information.
